She also offers works as a freelance script consultant for a boutique production company in Austin that focuses specifically on horror films. While she spent over two years writing film reviews, editorials, and event coverage for /Film, she recently started working as a News Writer. Marisa has a penchant for horror, documentaries, female-led films, and sci-fi. When she is not writing, she can be found sipping whiskey and spinning records deep in the heart of Texas.


Marisa graduated from Texas State University with a degree in psychology. Her focus on abnormal psychology, biopsychology, and cross-cultural psychology have all allowed her to provide a unique voice when writing about a film's thematic elements, technical approach, and cultural relevance.
