Peyton Reed Would “Love” to Do ‘Ant-Man 2’

Ant-Man Kitchen

Marvel’s not really in the business of making standalone movies. So even though there are no explicit plans for an Ant-Man 2 at the moment, it’s not a stretch to imagine there could be, as long as the first film doesn’t bomb completely. And if that does happen, director Peyton Reed would like Marvel to know he’s interested in returning. Read the Ant-Man 2 Peyton Reed comments after the jump.  Read More »

SNOWDEN_1st_Look

Two years after Edward Snowden leaked those NSA documents, he’s become a hot button topic all over again. Earlier this year he appeared in Laura Poitras’ documentary Citizenfour, and now a fictionalized version of him will get the spotlight in Oliver Stone‘s Snowden.

Ballers

Is there a movie star more universally beloved right now than Dwayne Johnson? The guy is so powerfully charismatic, he’s been dubbed “franchise Viagra.” He can rock the hell out of a Taylor Swift anthem and make a gritty Bambi reboot seem like a good idea. He’s such a likable figure, in fact, that even Steven Spielberg can’t resist sending him fan mail.

Johnson revealed that he recently got an admiring letter from the iconic director, which he said made him “grin like a big ass kid.” Read the Dwayne Johnson Steven Spielberg letter, and see Johnson’s reaction to it, after the jump.  Read More »

Sandman

There have been several attempts to adapt Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman over the years, sometimes as a TV series and sometimes as a film. In some ways, the former seems the easier way to go. The original Sandman series consisted of 75 issues, and even the more standalone arcs worked better as part of a cohesive whole.

But current producer Joseph Gordon-Levitt is making Sandman as a movie, and now he explains why. Naturally, that means a few things are going to get lost in the translation. Gordon-Levitt admits he might piss off the “literalists,” but pledges to stay true to the “overall sentiment” of the books. Secret in Their Eyes (5)

You could argue that Juan José Campanella‘s 2009 Argentinian thriller Secret in Their Eyes didn’t really need an English-language remake, and you’d probably be right. But as far as unnecessary remakes go, this one actually looks pretty promising.

Directed by Billy Ray (Shattered Glass), the new Secret in Their Eyes stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts as three FBI colleagues whose lives were torn apart by a brutal murder. Many years later, Ray (Ejiofor) gets a lead that could finally resolve the case, only to uncover something even more destructive. See the Secret in Their Eyes trailer and images after the jump.
