Aside from that pretty wonderful holiday short film/commercial released last month, things have been pretty quiet for director Wes Anderson in the wake of 2014’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was a critical darling, a box office hit, a genuine Oscar contender, and very much the best movie released that year. A little over a year ago, we learned that Anderson was making another stop-motion animated movie, that it’s about dogs, and that it will follow in the footsteps of his previous film and feature an impressive ensemble of actors.
Today, we finally know more. The film is called Isle of Dogs and Anderson revealed the full cast and a tiny snippet of footage.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Tom Cruise brings a lot of respectability to The Mummy. More than one would maybe expect from the first entry in the potential Universal Monster Movie Universe, partly because it’s following up the disastrous Van Helsing, The Wolfman, and, a movie erased from the new world of monsters, Dracula Untold. Universal has struggled to bring their iconic monsters back to the big screen in the past, but Cruise’s involvement in this universe, especially after seeing him in the solid trailer, inspires some confidence — and maybe because you know you’re usually in for a fun time with most movies starring Tom Cruise.
Below, watch The Mummy featurette, which features footage not shown in the trailer.

While many are looking ahead a couple weeks to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in just two weeks, some may be looking forward to getting absolutey crazy with a raunchy, R-rated holiday comedy, and Office Christmas Party will try to come through next week.
A new trailer for the comedy from Blades of Glory directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck has just arrived, and while it shows more of the party shenanigans that happen in an office in downtown Chicago, it also shows more of the outside happenings, including Jennifer Aniston assaulting some guy, and Karan Soni (the cab driver from Deadpool) trying to get a hooker from Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street).

If you’ve ever worked in an office, you’re surely familiar with the tradition of awkward holiday parties. You know the drill: everyone gets a little too drunk, says some things they’ll probably regret, maybe engages in an ill-advised hookup with a colleague, and then comes back to work the next morning hoping everyone else can just agree to pretend that nothing happened. But the office Christmas party in Office Christmas Party will surely put even your sauciest, most scandalous shindigs to shame.
Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, T.J. Miller, Kate McKinnon, Courtney B. Vance, and Olivia Munn play co-workers who enjoy an epic rager for the holidays. How epic are we talking? Well, it involves drugs, burning Christmas trees, drunken Santas sledding down staircases, a reindeer drinking out of the toilet, and, perhaps most telling of all, the fantastically terrifying Jillian Bell. Watch the Office Christmas Party trailer below.

For his third film, French genre director Xavier Gens has locked a bunch of New Yorkers in the basement of a building as they wait out the end of the world. But it turns out these people aren’t the only survivors, and interactions with people who didn’t make it to shelter set off a chain of events that probably won’t end well.
The film is The Divide, and those who’ve seen Gens’ first film, Frontier(s), will immediately recognize some common energy and tension. Anchor Bay has released the first full trailer for the film. It builds on the teaser we saw months ago, beginning with more or less the same setup before moving into a montage of action that suggests things get pretty crazy as this group awaits rescue. Check it out below. Read More »

And so enter the Final Destination series, which since the first sequel has been defying its own name while drawing in audiences happy to spend 90 minutes watching a cast of young hopefuls being offed in creative ways.
The fifth film in the series opens in just over a month, and you can see the second full trailer for Final Destination 5 after the break. Read More »
