Junkie XL, AKA Tom Holkenborg, is set to lend his signature sound to the Terminator: Dark Fate soundtrack. The composer, who has provided scores for Mad Max: Fury Road and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, also worked with Dark Fate director Tim Miller before on Deadpool. The sixth (and potentially final) Terminator film hopes to restore some dignity to a series that’s been on shaky ground for years.

While the early marketing efforts for Paramount’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie have resulted in some…odd imagery, we now know who will be providing the score for when the blue hedgehog is racing through the streets of San Francisco. Often times it’s the composer of a film’s score that makes a scene truly memorable. But how do composers create music that enhances movies so the thousands of notes we hear combine to give the film emotion, excitement, suspense and power?

The fan community has finally come down from the high of seeing what Aquaman looks like in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was an exciting moment, both because of the character himself and because we hadn’t heard many updates on the film in a while.
Jumping off that, a few minor Batman v Superman updates are now out there. First up, the film’s costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, talked a bit about the responsibility of designing a look for Aquaman. Second, composer Hans Zimmer offered up a few thoughts on the score, which he will soon begin working on. He says that, ideally, all of the heroes in this film will have their own themes and reiterates that Junkie XL will be doing the Batman half of the music.
