Thor Ragnarok deleted scene

Just how much Jeff Goldblum footage did Taika Waititi shoot for Thor: Ragnarok? However much it is, I want to see all of it. Some day, some kind soul will compile all the Goldblum Ragnarok footage into one spot. For now, a new Thor: Ragnarok deleted scene has arrived to bless us all with the gift of Goldblum.

vision and scarlet witch

Now that Taika Waititi has given the once-somber Thor a jubilant, comedy-forward makeover, what Marvel character could be next? Of course, Marvel characters aren’t lacking a funny bone — their tongue-in-cheek rapport is one of the foundations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But maybe there are a few sticks in the mud who could use a good Taika Waititi-style mockumentary.

Waititi’s first choice: Vision.

Thor Ragnarok extended scene

There was a lot to love about Taika Waititi‘s Thor: Ragnarok, but one of the best elements of the film was Jeff Goldblum‘s Grandmaster. Waititi is smart enough to understand all you need for cinematic gold is to point a camera at Goldblum and let him run wild. In a new Thor Ragnarok extended scene, Jeff Goldblum goes Full Goldblum™ as the Grandmaster, and it’s an absolute delight.

Thor Ragnarok deleted scene

After the bland Thor: The Dark World, Taika Waititi completely turned the Thor franchise around with last year’s Thor: Ragnarok by making one of the funniest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s also one of the strangest, and as a newly-released Thor Ragnarok deleted scene reveals, it was almost even stranger.

Take a look at the new scene below, which features a bizarre hologram of Jeff Goldblum‘s Grandmaster, and some nice banter between Thor and Bruce Banner. Read More »

Thor Ragnarok Intro Video - Taika Waititi

Last year’s blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok will be available on Blu-ray and DVD next month, and it will include a slew of bonus features, including deleted scenes, featurettes that go behind the scenes of the making of the movie, a brand new short film featuring Thor’s former roommate Darryl shacking up with The Grandmaster, and much more.

One of the special features is a little introduction to the movie by director Taika Waititi, and it’s every bit as funny as Thor: Ragnarok. In the video, he talks about which movies they were trying to emulate, such as My Fair Lady and Independence Day, and the struggles he had living up to his parents’ aspirations for him to be J.J. Abrams instead. The Thor Ragnarok intro video is the perfect way to set the stage for Marvel’s cosmic adventure. Read More »

thor ragnarok bloopers

We don’t deserve Taika Waititi. Not only is the man constantly immaculately dressed, he’s a boundless ball of joy and energy who turned his Thor: Ragnarok set into one big ‘ol dance party.

Take this Thor: Ragnarok gag reel. Rather than introduce it like your standard special feature video where the actors do talking head interviews about how much fun they had on set, Waititi primps and preens in front of the camera, taking the viewer on a dramatic tour of the set while he pokes fun at bits of set dressing. It’s so incredibly extra, and exactly what Waititi — who built up hype for his film by releasing those hilarious Team Thor mockumentary shorts — would do.
