Ozark trailer 2

I thought the teaser trailer for Jason Bateman and Laura Linney‘s dark new Netflix thriller Ozark looked intriguing, but I hadn’t seen anything yet. The streaming service has released a full trailer and this show is giving off some serious Breaking Bad vibes: a money launderer for the cartel gets in over his head, moves out of the city and heads to the Ozarks, and tries to stay one step ahead of an FBI agent while doing terrible things to save his family.

Ozark trailer

Jason Bateman‘s new Netflix showOzark, couldn’t look like a greater contrast to Arrested Development, his other Netflix series about an ethically dubious businessman. While Bateman’s comedy series is about keeping the family together, his new show is about keeping the family alive. The actor-director is behind the camera on Ozark as well. He executive produced the drama and directed four episodes of the first season, which will be released later this month.

But at this point, the rate at which Netflix is dropping new content on its subscribers is almost aggressive. They’re starting to seem like the Joker in The Dark Knight, setting fire to massive piles of cash in a darkened warehouse for no reason other than that they enjoy the chaos of it all. They just want to watch the world burn. And yes, I’m fully aware that I’ve reached peak #firstworldproblems status: I’m actually angry about how many good new shows exist that I want to watch.

And now the streaming service has released a teaser trailer for a dark new drama starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney called Ozark, and damn it, this one also looks terrific. Watch the first Ozark trailer below.
