There have been several different iterations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. But none have come close to being as weird and terrible as the rock star versions of the heroes in a half-shell from the Coming Out of Their Shells Tour. Despite how awful the touring turtles are, they still have fans who grew up watching the concert on VHS, and now they’re getting the ultimate action figure set as a 2020 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive from NECA. See the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Coming Out of Their Shells action figures below. Read More »
There have been some great toys inspired by the movie Gremlins released in the 36 years since the movie was released, but the line-up of NECA action figures in recent years have been the absolute best. There have been several different variations on the monstrous form of the Mogwai, each coming with their own cool accessories. But the latest addition to the NECA Gremlins action figure line calls back to an obscure advertisement for the movie that was tied to the 1984 Summer Olympics. Read More »
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective turned Jim Carrey into a huge star and kicked off a run of box office successes spread across a few years that included The Mask, Dumb & Dumber, Batman Forever, The Cable Guy, and Liar Liar. But you may not remember that the kooky animal investigator was also given an animated series that somehow ran for three seasons from 1995 to 2000. NECA remembers, and they’re releasing an Ace Ventura action figure inspired by his cartoonish appearance in that show. Read More »

It’s a good time to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. In the past couple years, the collectible toy makers at NECA have been delivering some incredible figures inspired by the comic book movie franchise. Their action figure lines range from detailed and and perfectly sculpted versions of characters from the original movie from 1989 to stylized figures modeled after the animated series. And as Toy Fair 2020 revealed, there are plenty more to come.
Since NECA is starting to run out of characters from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, they’re now turning their attention to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze. Since the four turtles from the original movie are already out there, NECA is giving villains more of a spotlight, including the mutants Tokka and Rahzar, as well as the beefy version of the turtles’ arch nemesis. But don’t worry if the sequel doesn’t appeal as much, because there are a couple more figures from the original movie on the way too. Read More »
NECA is responsible for bringing us some of the coolest action figures from blockbuster genre films like Predator, Halloween, Alien, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play, Godzilla, Gremlins, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and countless more. But they’ve also given us action figures for movies that don’t usually get any collectible action figures, such as A Christmas Story, Pan’s Labyrinth, Home Alone, The Hateful Eight, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Now one more is one the way.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is the movie that turned Jim Carrey into a comedy superstar, and it sparked what would become what might be the most lucrative comedy career of the 1990s. NECA previously immortalized the standard version of Ace Ventura as an action figure, complete with animal accessories and his trademark tacky clothing made of real cloth. But now they’re giving us a much better version of Ace Ventura from when he pretends to need psychiatric care at the Shady Acres mental hospital. Read More »

Michael Myers gets all the glory when it comes to the Halloween franchise, especially when it comes to collectibles. But many horror fans have defended Halloween 3: Season of the Witch as time has gone on, even without the masked slasher at the center of it. Now NECA is letting the horror sequel have its day in the sun with a new three-pack action figure set featuring the trick or treating kids who have their Halloween turned upside down when costume masks enchanted by mystical powers threaten their young lives. Cool Posts From Around the Web:
A couple years ago, NECA released an exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles box set featuring the animated versions of the characters from their own series that ran from 1987 through 1996. It was a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, but NECA eventually released the figures as two-packs that you could only buy at Target. They’ve been a little difficult to get ahold of in stores, never listed on Target’s website, and the secondary market has a mark-up of about 50% (if not more) if you try to find them.
Thankfully, NECA has released a second wave of animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures as two-packs that you can get only at Target. They repackage the heroes in a half-shell, with a slightly different paint job, and there are two new villain two-packs this time, including the dimwitted mutant duo Bebop and Rocksteady and a couple Foot Soldiers. And the best news is that they’re actually available to buy online. Read More »
