The film, from the best selling 2006 book by Josh Karp, chronicles the life and career of National Lampoon co-founder Doug Kenney. Doug Kenney co-founded the groundbreaking humor magazine National Lampoon in 1970, and went on to co-create the seminal movies Animal House and Caddyshack. His work was a major influence on subsequent generations of comedic writers and filmmakers.It will be directed by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer) and was adapted by Michael Colton & John Aboud (Childrens Hospital).

“ALTERED CARBON is set in a future where consciousness is digitized and stored in cortical stacks implanted in the spine, allowing humans to survive physical death by having their memories and consciousness “re-sleeved” into new bodies. The story follows specially trained “Envoy” soldier Takeshi Kovacs, who is downloaded from an off-world prison and into the body of a disgraced cop at the behest of Laurens Bancroft, a highly influential aristocrat. Bancroft was killed, and the last automatic backup of his stack was made hours before his death, leaving him with no memory of who killed him and why. While police ruled it a suicide, Bancroft is convinced he was murdered and wants Kovacs to find out the truth.”

Altered Carbon is a science fiction drama television series created by Laeta Kalogridis based on the novel by Richard K. Morgan. Ten episodes have been ordered by Netflix, with Miguel Sapochnik directing the first episode. Joel Kinnaman stars.

2017 TBD: Big Mouth Season 1

Big Mouth is a 10-episode, edgy, surreal animated comedy from real-life best friends Nick Kroll (Kroll Show, The League) and Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy) about teenaged adventures in puberty.

Comedian John Mulaney (John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid, Saturday Night Live) will lend his voice to the character of Andrew, while Kroll will obviously voice Nick. Maya Rudolph (Maya & Marty, Bridesmaids), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Lady Dynamite), Jordan Peele (Keanu, Key and Peele), Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Documentary Now!), Jenny Slate (Girls, Lady Dynamite) and Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer) are among the other actors who will lend their voices to the series.Kroll, Goldberg and screenwriter-directors Mark Levin & Jennifer Flackett (Little Manhattan, Nim’s Island) are all creators and executive producers on the series.

Netflix greenlit twelve episodes of Black Mirror, split into two seasons of six episodes each. Jodie Foster will direct and Rosemarie DeWitt will star in an episode of the fourth season of the critically acclaimed anthology series.

Netflix has ordered a third season of the Netflix original series, Bloodline, from creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler (“KZK”), a dramatic thriller that centers on a family of adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the ten episode third season starring Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz will return.

2017 TBA: Castlevania Season 1 Part 1

Netflix has greenlit a tv series based on the video game Castlevania. Season 1, Part 1 is coming out sometime in 2017 and Part 2 will hit the streaming service in 2018. Adi Shankar (Dredd), comic book writer Warren Ellis (Planetary), and executive producer Fred Seibert (Adventure Time) are working on the animated series, which Shankar says has a “Game of Thrones vibe to it.” He also guarantees it’ll conclude “the streak and be the western world’s first good video game adaptation.”

New episodes of the Emmy-nominated series from Jerry Seinfeld will be produced for Netflix.

Produced and co-written by Chuck Lorre, this 20-episode comedy series features Kathy Bates, Michael Trucco, Jessica Yu, and Kate Miner.
