Cloak and Dagger B Sides Review

This week’s Cloak & Dagger episode, “B Sides,” was a slow-burn, but once it picked up steam, it revealed itself to be one of the most depressing episodes this season. I’d go as far as to say that it was one of the most depressing episodes of the entire series so far.

In the episode, we find Tandy get systematically beaten down emotionally by doggone Andre, the guy we thought was on our side! But what’s really going down is that Andre steals women’s hopes. What’s still unclear is how Andre roped Lia into this thing. Are they in a relationship? Did he steal her hope, too? I’m sure these questions will be answered later on. What’s most pressing now is the ordeal Tandy goes through as she becomes another girl trapped by a system that devours women whole.

Let’s get into what Tandy endures.

Cloak and Dagger Alignment Chart Review

This week, Cloak & Dagger is back on track and, as I expected, the drama was tenfold. The episode, “Alignment Chart,” brought us a tale of two vipers. One was hiding in plain sight and the other, seemingly more dangerous one, was actually defanged. Let’s get into which is which.

Cloak and Dagger Rabbit Hold Review

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like this week’s Cloak & Dagger episode, “Rabbit Hold,” was missing something. The problem is I that I don’t know what it could be missing, since it hit all of the same beats a usual Cloak & Dagger episode. But somehow, the heart of the episode was lost. It was as if the episode was going through the motions. Maybe this is what a Cloak & Dagger filler episode feels like.

“Rabbit Hold” did have a purpose, though—it set up a future plotpoint as well as give us a tour of the Darkforce Dimension. But the action, or lack thereof, was boring. Let’s get into why this episode felt a little lackluster.

Cloak and Dagger Shadow Selves Review

This week’s Cloak and Dagger episode, “Shadow Selves,” was the origin story for Mayhem we needed. But it was also more than that—it was a study of how the emotion of mayhem can actually be used for good when it’s channeled in the right way. The episode also gave us our first internal look at the Darkforce Dimension.

Let’s dive into what we learned about Mayhem this week.

Season 2 of Cloak and Dagger has us back in moody New Orleans with Tandy and Tyrone, and I’m excited for the ride we’ll be on. Last season was such a revelation, and I’m hoping this season won’t be any different. So far, what I’ve seen from the first two episodes, “Restless Energy” and “White Lines,” prove that we will get even more of what made last season so good, plus some surprises.

Here’s how Season 2 is shaping up to be just as good as its predecessor.

turn of the screw TV series

Henry James’ gothic horror novella The Turn of the Screw will be adapted into a new TV series for Freeform. So far, so good, right? Not so fast! The adaptation will also be set in modern times, which takes a little wind out of the story’s old school gothic scares. The new Turn of the Screw TV series will focus on a nanny who heads to a job on a picturesque island, only to discover possible supernatural forces.

Joyland TV series

There was a period following the box office success of It where we were getting a new Stephen King adaptation announcement every day.
