Marshall has been writing about movies online for over 13 years and began professionally freelancing in 2015. He joined /Film as a freelance contributor in 2017 to help expand the site's coverage of the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, he's offered insights and reviews out of festivals like Tribeca and New York as well as contributed interviews, reporting, and other articles. In his work for the site as well as across the internet, Marshall is always looking to get to the heart of any story by also placing it within a larger cultural context. Marshall graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University with a bachelor's degree in communication and sociology.
