Mike Judge's In The Know: Everything We Know So Far About Peacock's Adult Animated Comedy

The adult-animated comedy space, which includes incredibly successful shows such as "Rick and Morty," "BoJack Horseman," and "The Simpsons," among others, is getting a brand new addition from Peacock!

The streamer has officially ventured into animation for mature audiences with "In The Know," a brand-new series from Mike Judge, Greg Daniels, and Zach Woods. Judge is well-known for being the mind behind "Beavis and Butt-Head," the show featuring everyone's favorite rock/metal-loving teenage delinquents. He is also known for co-creating "King of the Hill" with Daniels and "Silicon Valley," among others. Woods is also a known face to comedy fans; the actor starred in "The Office" as Gabe Lewis and had roles in "Silicon Valley" and "Avenue 5." Judge and Woods are both set to star in the series, which comes from studio Universal Television and Bandera Entertainment (the production company set up by Judge and Daniels).

What is In The Know about?

As per Peacock, here's the official description for "In The Know":

Lauren Caspian is NPR's third most popular host. He's a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He's also a stop-motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren's show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real-world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.

The animated comedy is set to capture the conversations we have in our day-to-day lives in a "heightened, hilarious way," according to Lisa Katz, the President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. Judge and Daniels are comedy veterans, they've been in the business for years, so we can expect "In The Know" to have just the right amount of comedy and heart, as their other ventures have had.

Meet the crew behind In the Know

Co-creators Mike Judge and Zach Woods will lend their voices to the series, leading the voice cast for the show. The duo will executive produce alongside Greg Daniels, Brandon Gardner (who also serves as co-creator on "In The Know"), and Dustin Davis from Bandera Entertainment. Since launching Bandera in 2021, the company from Judge and Daniels has been developing another animated series for Peacock titled "Best Buds."

That's not all — aside from their adult-animation projects, the company has multiple shows on its roster, including the dark comedy procedural "Bad Crimes" at Netflix, the Annie Murphy-voiced "Praise Petey" at Freeform, and the Sasha Baron Cohen-starring "Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth" at HBO Max.

"In The Know" will be the first of many adult animated series up at Peacock, and the team behind the show is confident that the audience will be thrilled. "We're thrilled to be working on this unique and inventive series with such an accomplished team and can't wait for audiences to be In the Know," expressed Universal TV president Erin Underhill.
