The Fast and Furious female spin-off appears to be on the fast track, as Vin Diesel has just announced the writing team that will bring the film to life. Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet will pen the script, which will likely focus on Michelle Rodriguez‘s Letty and presumably other female characters from the mega-franchise.

Transformers Age of Extinction - Bumblebee

The Transformers writers room continues to expand. Black List scribes Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Ken Nolan are the latest to come aboard, joining Robert Kirkman, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner, and many more.

Just as we’re enjoying the last of 2012’s cinematic offerings, the latest edition of the Black List has hit the web. The annual survey highlights the hottest unproduced screenplays of the year, as based on the votes of hundreds of executives.

The term “unproduced” is used rather vaguely here. Some of these scripts (like Ivan Reitman‘s Draft Day and Wally Pfister‘s Transcendence) already have a director or star attached, while others are still floating around in search of the right studio or producer. The subjects and honorees range greatly as well. Nazi hunters, Hillary Clinton, the NFL, and time-traveling teens are among the subjects of this year’s winners, and the screenwriters run the gamut from industry newcomers to seasoned pros.

Justin Lin has begun to enter Guillermo Del Toro territory. The director of Fast Five is currently shooting Fast and Furious 6 and was expected to immediately follow that with the seventh installment. Whether that’s the case or not, he’s now attached to at least five additional projects, with the fifth one just being announced.
