One of the most beloved animated series from the Disney Channel is back in a very big way. Over 16 years after it went off the air, "The Proud Family" is back and promises to be "Louder and Prouder."

With an updated animation style, familiar faces, and new shenanigans for the family to get into, "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" is ready to pick things up right where we left them. Here's everything you need to know about the new series.

The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder Release Date and Where You Can Watch It

"The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in February 2022. The original series is currently available to stream, so you've got plenty of time to revisit it in time for the sequel series.

What is The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder About?

The original series debuted in 2001 and ended prematurely in 2005 after only two seasons. "The Proud Family" centered on the life of fourteen-year-old Penny Proud as she navigates the transitional years between childhood and adulthood and dreaded junior high drama. Fortunately, Penny comes from a wonderful family who, despite their hilarious hijinks, are here to love and support one another. The new series will serve as a continuation of that story, with Penny a little bit older, a little bit wiser, and the rest of the Proud family as quirky as ever.

The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder Cast

The original voice cast of "The Proud Family" are returning with Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Raquel Lee as Nubia Gross, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrerra as Sunset Boulevardez, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby.

As we previously reported, massive megastars like Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Leslie Odom Jr. of "Hamilton" fame, and Chance the Rapper have all signed on, alongside Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union, Anthony Anderson, Lena Waithe, Al Roker, Jaden Smith, Jane Lynch, Eva Longoria, Glynn Turman, Brenda Song, Marsai Martin, and Normani. Olympians Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, and Laurie Hernandez are also scheduled to appear, as will the mother of Beyoncé herself, Tina Knowles.
