Blockbuster summer has been a fairly disappointing season thus far. For my money, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been the only movie that has truly delivered what a summer blockbuster is. Thankfully, the season is only half over, and we’ve got plenty of great movies coming down the pipeline, one of which will be arriving in just a couple weeks and just might have a soundtrack that rivals the aforementioned Marvel Studios sequel.
Baby Driver is the latest film from Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs the World director Edgar Wright, and along with the crisp action, editing and camera work that comes with all of the director’s films, there’s a thumping soundtrack that keeps the movie alive in a mesmerizing way. In the spirit of the adrenaline-fueled action flick, DJ Mike Relm created a Baby Driver trailer remix using sound effects, dialogue and more to create an interesting track that wouldn’t feel out of place in the movie itself. We’re already familiar with the ins and outs of the Awesome Mix Vol. 1, thanks to our many repeat viewings of Guardians of the Galaxy. Now here’s the Awesome REmix Vol. 1 from music producer Mike Relm.
As with Godzilla and Iron Man, Relm took music, dialogue, and footage from Guardians of the Galaxy, chopped it up into little tiny pieces, and laid it back out into something fresh. The clangs and thuds of a fight scene turn into a beat; Rocket Raccoon’s “oh yeah” becomes a chorus of sorts. Watch the Mike Relm Guardians of the Galaxy remix after the jump. Read More »
It’s been a year since we featured one of Mike Relm‘s video and music remixes, but he’s back with a new video. This one pulls from Godzilla, and chews up sounds, dialogue, and images from the film into a clanging, aggressive juggernaut that uses Godzilla’s roar like a snare drum. Check it out below. Without a doubt, this weekend belongs to Iron Man 3. The film is now open and the box office is expected to be huge; possibly one of the biggest of all time. That means everyone and their mother will be heading out to the theater to see what’s next for Tony Stark after he flew into space at the end of The Avengers.
Surely people will also take the weekend to look back at the first two Iron Man films, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau. If you don’t have time for all that, though, music producer Mike Relm has made an awesome Iron Man trilogy remix, using Black Sabbath’s Iron Man in conjunction with footage from all three films. San Francisco-based audio/video mash-up artist/performer Mike Relm is back with a new remix for Disney’s Tron Legacy. You might recall that Relm created a cool remix of the Iron Man 2 trailer, which caught the eye of director Jon Favreau, and got turned into a (shorter) television advertisement. Relm’s Tron Legacy remix mixes the special effects test footage (which premiered at Comic Con three years ago) combined with footage from the last two movie trailers. Watch the remix music video embedded after the jump.
