Spider-Man Far From Home

So why is Nick Fury working with Beck? Even though they don’t specifically explain this in the trailer, the cutting of scenes would imply that the creatures known as Elementals (aka Hydro Man, Molten Man, etc.) have come from Beck’s version of Earth. And he’s here to help Fury stop them from causing some serious trouble. But as this massive explosion of water shows, that’s not going to be so easy.

Spider-Man Far From Home

This is where Hydro Man shows up, and based on the footage of this scene from the previous trailer, we’re betting that Peter has to deal with this situation before Nick Fury even gets ahold of him. More than likely, this disrupts his vacation, he can’t deal with this thing himself, Beck saves the day, and then Fury comes to find Peter and explains exactly what is going on here.

Of course, when Fury brings him into the fray, it sounds like Peter isn’t ready for all this yet. He asks why someone like Thor or Captain Marvel can’t help. Turns out Thor is off-world and, according to Maria Hill, Captain Marvel is unavailable.

We’re not sure where all the other Avengers are, but after the snap, I’m sure they’re all busy recovering in their own way. That leaves the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man as Fury’s only superhero option to work with this Beck guy.

Of course, there does turn out to be a good reason for Peter to stay involved, because it looks like MJ has an encounter with Molten Man at some point while walking around at night.

As you may have surmised, this guy is made up of molten lava and fire, which probably isn’t the easiest thing for Spider-Man to deal with.

It appears Spider-Man has to deal with this problem while wearing his new stealth suit. We’re not exactly sure how this suit came together. Could Mysterio or Nick Fury have helped him make it at this point? It doesn’t seem to be a fully repurposed version of the first suit Tony Stark gave him, but rather a new creation, perhaps using the resources Nick Fury and his people have at their disposal. Of course, we’re not sure why he needs to be stealthy to begin with yet.

Peter Parker would much rather stay low to the ground than have to deal with all of this, but as Nick Fury so eloquently says, “Bitch, please, you’ve been to space.” It’s hard to argue with that.

Mysterio flies over London and towards the tower bridge on the river Thames. If he’s flying towards the bridge, we’re thinking this shot doesn’t have its visual effects complete yet since a later shot in this trailer shows another Elemental attacking the bridge. But we’ll get to that later.

Spider-Man Far From Home

Mysterio is seen here using his apparently magical powers to attack Hydro Man. Remember, this is the battle that he initially tells Peter that he doesn’t want any part of in the first trailer. Could that be because it’s all to trick people into thinking he’s a superhero?

Spider-Man Far From Home

With Tony Stark gone, Peter Parker is in the market for a new mentor, and it appears Mr. Beck ends up filling that void for him. Here, the two have a heart-to-heart in a pub and Beck asks Peter what he wants.

Spider-Man Far From Home

Peter just wants to go back on his trip with his friends so he can continue to spark some romance with MJ. Here the two are enjoying a lovely walk through the sights at night, a bit of a date that will likely be interrupted by Molten Man.

But how’s Peter going to explain yet another disappearance when something like that happens? Well, he doesn’t really have to, because MJ has already figured out that he’s Spider-Man. So that problem is solved, but now that just puts MJ in danger, especially since Mysterio now knows who Spider-Man really is too. And we all know what villains like to do with the loved ones of superheroes.
