  • Bee has extensive knowledge on horror films, as, for example, evidenced with a 40-year retrospective they created around the "Halloween" franchise.
  • Bee brings a fresh perspective to their work, namely often through the lens of the LGBTQ+ community. Their piece "Cat People: Society's Tethering of Queer Sexuality & Identity" for Bloody Disgusting is a prime showcase of their style and depth of understanding.
  • Bee brings their extensive background in music reporting, from covering major events to interviewing musicians, to their work; expertise in telling stories and reframing conversations in deep thematic material assist in analyzing a film's structure, plot, and historical context.

Experience

Bee has worked as a writer for a little over a decade. Their career first began as a music writer with the now-defunct Examiner.com before transitioning to the editorial arm of AXS.com. Meanwhile, they picked up bylines in country music blog Nashville Gab and BlogCritics. In time, they eventually swam to bigger waters and became a pop writer for Popdust and landed features in Billboard magazine, PopCrush, Paste Magazine, Grammy.com, Holler, and American Songwriter. Later, in 2018, they started writing extensively about horror film, first doing an extensive 40-year retrospective on the "Halloween" franchise and going on to write for Bloody Disgusting, Certified Forgotten, and Dread Central.

Education

Bee as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University.
