HBO Max had a somewhat botched debut thanks to confusion about WarnerMedia’s brands and which customers got the new streaming service for free and which ones needed to pay to subscribe. But the good news with setting the bar low at the start is that it should be easy for things to improve from here.

We’re just a few days away from the launches of both AppleTV+ and Disney+, but there is still at least one more major player waiting to enter the streaming wars after those two: HBO Max. WarnerMedia’s streaming service will debut in spring of 2020 with around 10,000 hours of content available to consume, including popular hits like Friends and The Big Bang Theory. But there are also tons of original series in development for the new service, and we’re here to round them all up in one place so you can decide if it’s going to be worth it to add yet another streaming service to your monthly budget.
The service will provide content from every branch of the WarnerMedia corporate tree, including HBO, Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, and Looney Tunes. After a brief hiatus, Steven Soderbergh is making up for lost time. Earlier this year he released High Flying Bird, a Netflix movie shot on iPhones. His next movie, The Laundromat, will play at TIFF and the Venice Film Festival next month. And now it looks like he’s shooting a secret project. That project is Let Them All Talk, which will star Meryl Streep and Gemma Chan. While the plot of the movie remains a mystery, we’re always up for more Soderbergh.
