New 'Star Wars' Video Game In 2019 Will Follow The Fall Of The Jedi After 'Revenge Of The Sith'

When it comes to Star Wars video games, the only substantial titles we've gotten come in the form of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise (which just got a new Han Solo season). Otherwise, ever since Disney took over Lucasfilm, the focus has been on giving stories to fans in the form of movies, books and comics, as well as all the merchandise that comes with them. But now a new Star Wars video game has been announced for arrival in 2019.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was announced by Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment at EA Play during E3. The game will arrive something in the holiday season of 2019. With a title like that, it's probably not hard to discern what the game is about, but we'll dive into what we know below.StarWars.com announced the new Star Wars video game news after Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella revealed the title. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be a a single-player, action-adventure title that tells a new story set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

The new Star Wars video game will let players control a surviving Jedi Padawan after Emperor Palpatine has executed Order 66, commanding his new clone army to kill any surviving Jedi in the galaxy, allowing him to take over without interference.

Since this is an area that hasn't been extensively explored in the new Star Wars canon, this has the potential to be a really exciting game. Star Wars Rebels fills in some of the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but it's much closer to the latter than the former. There's plenty of uncharted territory, and focusing on a Jedi trying to survive on the run is quite the intriguing prospect.

As of now you can sign up at the game's official website to be notified when new information becomes available. Otherwise, we'll be sure to let you know whats going on this this title. Plus, stay tuned to see if anything comes about from the other Star Wars video games possibly in the works.
