'Daredevil' Season 2 Teaser Lets You Pick Your Poison

Outside of a teaser released at the New York City Comic-Con earlier this year and a pretty cool poster, things have been awfully quiet on the Daredevil season 2 front. And can you blame them? The first season was a rousing success for everyone involved, winning over audiences of all kinds and thoroughly shaking up the plans for the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Everyone involved can take their sweet time because they know everyone will be back for the next season.

Plus, Marvel has been giving all of their recent love/promotional power to Jessica Jones, which is set to premiere this Friday (and has been receiving reviews that match or top those given to Daredevil). No one knows how much these characters and their separate shows will cross-pollinate before crossing over in that big Defenders miniseries, but a new Daredevil teaser suggests that we may get to see certain characters interact sooner rather than later.

You can watch the new Daredevil season 2 teaser below.

This teaser was posted on the official Daredevil Twitter page and while it's not much, it's worth a look if obsessing over the MCU is a thing you do on a daily basis. It looks like Josie's, the dive bar frequented by Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, has some new competition:

We know that Mike Colter's superhuman Luke Cage is playing a major role in Jessica Jones before getting his own Netflix series (which is under production right now), but it certainly wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility for him to film a quick cameo for Daredevil season 2. Why can't Matt stop by Luke's joint for a quick nightcap and give the audience a quick encounter between the two heroes? Heck, why not dedicate an entire episode to a Daredevil/Luke Cage team-up? Isn't that the point of the MCU? To watch these characters team up and fight and argue and crack jokes together?

This teaser could be hinting at Colter and his character's bar popping in Daredevil... or it could just be the Daredevil Twitter feed doing its part to remind everyone to watch Jessica Jones.

In any case, we're probably going to have to wait a while longer for more official Daredevil footage – we need to wait for the the smoke from Jessica Jones' premiere to clear and for the fans to be hungry again. After all, a handful of other promos have seemingly been scrubbed off the internet. In the meantime, you can rematch the NYCC trailer, with is 80% footage from the first season and contains two very quick shots of Elodie Yung's Elektra and Jon Bernthal's the Punisher, both of whom will make Matt Murdock's life very difficult in the coming season.

Daredevil season 2 doesn't have a release date, but it will arrive sometime in 2016.
