TV Bits: 'The Walking Dead,' 'The Leftovers,' 'Looking'
In this edition of TV Bits:
The Walking Dead season 6 ended with a huge (and hugely unpopular) cliffhanger that saw Jeffrey Dean Morgan's new villain Negan kill a member of Rick's crew with his barbwire-wrapped baseball bat...offscreen. Since then, AMC has worked overtime to hide the identity of his chosen victim and The Hollywood Reporter says that the production has filmed death scenes for Chandler Riggs, Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Josh McDermitt, Lauren Cohan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Norman Reedus, Ross Marquand, Christian Serratos, Michael Cudlitz and Steven Yeun, just to throw spoiler-hounds off the scent. THR even notes that the final decision as to who bites the dust wasn't decided at the time and that the death will be chosen after the fact by the producers, directors, and editors. But can everyone keep this secret under wraps for the rest of the summer? Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen.

The third and final season of HBO's The Leftovers has begun filming and the first images from the set have begun to trickle online through the magic of Twitter. Specific details about the season remain under wraps, but we do know that homestretch will transport the cast from Texas to Australia, presumably to join Kevin Garvey's father (Scott Glenn). Speaking of Kevin Garvey, that's Justin Theroux in the image above. No matter how many times this show reboots itself, it has a constant in Theroux's willingness to show off his impossibly fit physique.

Meanwhile, leading lady Carrie Coon shared what appears to be the first official still from the third season and it looks like it may even take place in the same scene as the on-set image seen above. And would you look at that – we already have our first The Leftovers season 3 mystery! Just what happened to Nora's arm?

While the season is currently filming in Austin, Texas, the series has begun scouting locations in Australia. After the all, the one thing The Leftovers really needs is more desolate landscapes.
Despite having a small but passionate following, HBO cancelled Looking after two seasons, bringing the various adventures of Patrick Murray and his circle of friends to a premature end. However, the network is granting viewers some degree of closure. In lieu of a third season, Looking will conclude with a TV movie and the trailer for that movie can be watched above. This is the second time in recent years that HBO has given a cancelled series the chance to end its run with a feature length film, following in the footsteps of Hello Ladies. How about we stop beating around the bush and just get to Deadwood next?
