How To Watch Super Troopers 3 At Home

25 years after "Super Troopers" put the Broken Lizard gang squarely on the comedy map, the boys have reassembled for their second sequel, imaginatively titled "Super Troopers 3," which, if you're a fan, should deliver the delightfully dumb goods. If you're not a fan, might I recommend Rainer Werner Fassbinder's brilliant, all-female drama "The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant?"

Evidently, the Broken Lizard fanbase is not terribly robust these days because the film only grossed a paltry $8 million worldwide during its theatrical run. To be fair, comedy in general hasn't been faring so well post-COVID shutdown, so it's entirely possible that the return of the Spurbury, Vermont, state troopers will become a streaming hit when it premiers on digital platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV on September 22, 2026. There will also be a Blu-ray and DVD release on November 3, but anyone springing for that likely caught the movie in theaters. I don't mean to diminish Broken Lizard! On the contrary, I'm a fan of their movies and have had several enjoyable interactions with them (including a beer-chugging contest where my team shockingly lost to the makers of "Beerfest"). But they do seem to be an acquired taste.

If Broken Lizard's comedy is a flavor you savor, the streaming and physical media releases will almost certainly hit the spot.

"Super Troopers 3" has a fun hook that finds Farva (Kevin Heffernan) rescuing and subsequently falling in love with Sarita Mukandun (Hannah Simone), which is a nightmare for Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar) given that she's his sister. As Thorny schemes to derail the upcoming nuptials, the Troopers work to thwart a drug ring that's producing a powerful narcotic called Canadian Crystal. But, really, the best material in the film involves Thorny's family, who get caught up in revenge sex shenanigans. There's also Farva's participation in the Snake Ritual, which requires him to reach into a basket filled with cobras and, well, grab one. Spoiler: This goes more horribly for Farva than you can imagine.

The great Brian Cox returns as the now-retired Captain John O'Hagen, who has nothing better to do than hang around the police station. Per the mid-credits sequence, if there's to be a "Super Troopers 4," O'Hagen will apparently be at the center of it.

Depending on where you rent/purchase "Super Troopers 3," you may also receive four bonus features. "Super Bloopers" is the gag reel of outtakes from the production. There are also two deleted scenes, the first of which is "Farva's in the House," wherein the rest of the gang uses "a voice modulator to convince him to lick their EV's steering wheel." The second is titled "New Delhi Nose Pepper," where you'll see Nat Faxon's Captain Todd experience a harrowing run-in with an extraordinarily hot pepper at Farva's wedding. Finally, there's a set tour hosted by Trooper Carl Foster himself, Paul Soter.

So if you want to see "Super Troopers 4," pony up some cash for "Super Troopers 3" on VOD!
