'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' Viral Video Gives First Look At Mutant-Hunting Sentinels

Here's your first official video look at a couple of the big elements from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Or, to be pedantic, one giant element and one human one. The video below is an "advertisement" for Trask Industries, a high-tech firm focused in part on national security. The head of the company is Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage, and in addition to the portrait above you'll see him briefly in the video below.

The most famous product of Trask Industries may be Bolivar's brainchild, the mutant-hunting Sentinel robots, and you'll see one or two of them below, too, in their early versions. We saw some basic hints of them at Comic Con, but this is a much better look.

First, check out this video. And if you're concerned that the sentinel seen towards the end seems a little small, get a load of the pics below. [via ScreenCrush]

These materials come from the Trask Industries website, which also offers the following bio of Trask and suggests that other mutant-controlling tech from the company, such as a "gene-inhibiting" collar, will be in the film.

Even from his early years as a research assistant, Bolivar always maintained a particular interest in the origin and evolution of humanity. Following in the footsteps of Mendel, Watson and Crick, Trask made it his goal to unlock the mysteries of human DNA. What he did not anticipate was the discovery of the X-Gene, a genetic finding that would prove to be the most significant of the 20th century.

Trask soon hypothesized the impending extinction of the human race. His early theories were ridiculed by his contemporaries and with no one to fund his research, Trask cared enough about humanity to invest in the founding of Trask Industries in 1967.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23, 2014.
