Trailers: Andrew Dosunmu's Sundance Film 'Restless City' And Ray Winstone In The Big Screen Adaptation Of 'The Sweeney'

Today we bring you a couple new movie trailers:

  • The Sweeney is a big screen adaptation of the British television series starring Ray Winstone and Ben Drew (aka rapper Plan B) as Detectives specializing in armed robbery and violent crime in London. 
  • Andrew Dosunmu's Restless City premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011. The film follows the story of an African immigrant "surviving on the fringes of New York City."

    Andrew Dosunmu's Restless City:

    Djibril is a young African immigrant who's life can only go upward. He has endured many travails by the time he arrives in New York. When he has lived in the City for a while he begins to believe that he can achieve his ample dreams. He wants to be a musician, a pop star and one day return to Africa where his mother and father still toil for a meager living.

    The film was picked up by AFFRM, who will open the movie in limited theatrical release in New York, L.A. and Atlanta on April 27th 2012, with plans to expand to five additional cities on May 4th.

    The Sweeney stars Ray Winstone and Ben Drew as Detective members of the "Flying Squad," a branch of the police specializing in armed robbery and violent crime in London. The film opens the UK on September 21st 2012, and doesn't yet have a US release date.
