‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Will Speed into Theaters in April 2022

Are you ready to go fast…again? You better be, buster, because here comes Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The sequel to last year’s hit adaptation of the popular Sega game now has itself a somewhat predictable title and an official release date: April 2022. The news was announced via social media, which included a little teaser that features absolutely no footage but does confirm that Sonic’s pal Tails, who popped up at the end of the first movie, is going to have a part to play in the sequel.

Paramount Pushes ‘A Quiet Place II’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ to 2021, Sets Dates for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ and More

Now that Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed Tenet back to an unknown release date, Paramount Pictures is delaying some of their biggest movies scheduled for release later this year and bumping them back into 2021.

A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick, two anticipated sequels that would have already been in theaters by now but were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic shutting down movie theaters, are both being delayed until next year. That’s also resulted in a shift for the return of the Jackass franchise. Paramount has also beefed up their schedule for the next couple years with dates for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the animated movies Under the Boardwalk and The Tiger’s Apprentice. Read More »
