The Boys are returning to Amazon Prime this fall, but they’re not going to have an easy go of it from the looks of the trailer for the second season. Amazon Prime has released a new The Boys trailer, which gives a deeper look at the bloody series about a group of vigilantes taking down caped crusaders. Karl Urban stars as the leader of the titular Boys, who aim to take down take down corrupt superheroes that have embraced fame and fortune.

Even your average non-geek will have a pretty good idea of who the Justice League or the X-Men or the Avengers are. But in comparison, the characters of Suicide Squad are a relatively unknown bunch. Aside from Harley Quinn, none of them are really what you’d call household names. And even if you do know these guys from the comics, the versions in the movie are all-new. No one’s met these iterations yet.

Forget the Avengers, the Justice League, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. Cinema’s most tight-knit superpowered crew is the cast of Suicide Squad, as evidenced by the fact that the actors have elected to give each other matching “SKWAD” tattoos. Not get matching tattoos, like from a tattoo parlor — actually give them to each other.

One of the buzziest trailers to come out of this year’s Comic-Con was Suicide Squad. As Russ put it, the footage teased “a viciously detailed film, with a real eye for keeping things grim and weird.” It won the interest of fans and non-fans alike. Which is all well and good for Warner Bros. — but if you fall into the latter category, you might’ve found yourself as confused by the trailer as you were intrigued.
While characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are familiar to just about everyone on the known planet, that’s definitely not the case with Suicide Squad.
