Shortly after it was reported that Dune would get pushed back by nearly a year, Warner Bros. has significantly reshuffled its film release calendar for the next two years. The biggest major delay is The Batman, which moves from October 2021 to March 2022. Several other comic book movies are following in The Batman‘s steps, with The Flash and Shazam 2 getting pushed back several months, while Black Adam has been taken off the release calendar entirely. Only Wonder Woman 1984 remains in its December 2020 slot.

Netflix and The CW have announced a new partnership. For the next few years, Netflix will exclusively stream The CW’s content, including this year’s Archie television show Riverdale. Under this deal, eight days after the Riverdale season finale airs the entirety of season one will be ready to watch on Netflix, and the same goes for The CW’s other programs.

After last year’s epic Batman v Superman announcement, everyone expects Warner Bros. to give fans tons of big news at Comic-Con this year. We’d already heard pretty definitively that the next bit film, Justice League directed by Zack Snyder, would hit in 2017. Given the casting of characters such as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, WB and DC seem to be readying other major superheroes for spin offs. It’s that time of year when the TV networks clear the crap off their channel and fill it up with new crap. The hope, of course, is the new crap sticks around and gains an audience. While we don’t follow a lot of TV here on /Film, we do follow big comic book shows and three new DC Comics TV shows just got picked up. Two on The CW and another on NBC.
The first, and most obvious, is The Flash, the Arrow spinoff starring Grant Gustin as the iconic DC Comics speedster. Then there’s iZombie, Veronica Mars‘ creator Rob Thomas’s adaptation of the Vertigo comic. Then, over on NBC, Constantine, starring Matt Ryan as a supernatural detective, got picked up too.
