It’s A Wonderful Life is a classic that families watch together during the holiday season, especially on Christmas Eve when NBC airs it every year. But this year, Frank Capra‘s beloved 1946 film will get a bit of a makeover courtesy of a charity table read put together for The Ed Asner Family Center, which promotes mental health and enrichment programs to special needs children and their families.
Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson has been tapped to take the lead role of George Bailey, famously portrayed by the legendary Jimmy Stewart. Joining the comedian will be his King of Staten Island co-star Maude Apatow as Violet Bick, as well as an impressive all-star ensemble to flesh out the rest of the cast. Get the details about the It’s A Wonderful Life table read below. Read More »
The trailer for Jim Jarmusch‘s The Dead Don’t Die is here, and it looks unlike anything the Only Lovers Left Alive director has done before. Jarmusch has gathered together one impressive cast to tell a zombie-comedy story. What’s it about? We’re not entirely sure. We just know that zombies are on the lose, and at one point, Tilda Swinton brandishes a samurai sword. Watch The Dead Don’t Die trailer below.

The indie auteur has put together one hell of a cast for this saga, and you can see the full lineup below. Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) has come a long way since being rescued from a crazy cult that tricked her into living in an underground bunker for 15 years. She learned a whole lot about the world in the first season of her show, dealt with some of the issues that she buried deep within her mind in the second season, and now for the upcoming third season, she’s setting out to make something of herself by going to college.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is returning to Netflix in May with an all-new season, and the latest trailer for the series from 30 Rock executive producers Robert Carlock and Tina Fey promises plenty more silliness. Plus, we’ll also get the return of several prominent guest stars, including Jon Hamm as Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, and Fred Armisen as Robert Durst.

In The Avengers, Mark Ruffalo played a seemingly mild-mannered man waging a constant internal battle against his predilection for anger. In the upcoming Thanks for Sharing, he plays a guy who’s a lot like that, only he’s fighting sex addition, not anger issues. And Pepper Potts — I’m sorry, Gwyneth Paltrow — is along for the ride.
Adam (Ruffalo) is five years sex-sober when he meets and falls for beautiful Phoebe (Paltrow). Encouraged by his pals at the sex-addiction group (including Tim Robbins), he pursues a relationship with her, struggling to maintain a healthy romance without spiraling into self-destructive behavior.
Thanks for Sharing was directed by The Kids Are All Right scribe Stuart Blumberg, so it’s no surprise that there’s a sweet, honest feel to the proceedings. Check out the new trailer after the jump.

One of my favorite movies of the year so far is coming to theaters next month. The trailer came online late last week but got buried thanks to a little event called Comic-Con.
Now I’m happy to finally share the first trailer to Mike Birbiglia‘s Sleepwalk With Me, an autobiographical romantic comedy about a man’s struggle to become a stand-up comedian. Only thing is, he has a dangerous penchant to sleepwalk. Comedian Birbiglia co-wrote, stars in and directs the film which also features Lauren Ambrose, Carol Kane, James Rebhorn, Marc Maron and others. Sleepwalk With Me won the Audience Award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and hits theaters beginning August 24.
