As usual, December brings audiences a bunch of potentially exciting Oscar contenders and popcorn movies. One of the most highly anticipated in the latter category is Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Oscar-winning director Brad Bird's first live action film and the fourth in the massive Mission: Impossible series. Outside of some incredible set photos of star Tom Cruise on top of the world's tallest building, we've seen very little from the December 16 release. That's about to change. According to The Film Stage, which has a very reliable trailer source, it'll be attached to fellow IMAX release Transformers: Dark of the Moon next week and we've already got a detailed description. Check it out after the jump.

Thanks to The Film Stage for the information.

According to their source, the trailer is 2 minutes 15 seconds and there are a few details about the trailer on the IMDB:

  • The featured song is"Won't Back Down" by Eminem
  • The IMF is accused of bombing the Kremlin so they have to escape.
  • Jeremy Renner's character tells Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) "You're not gonna make it" to which he replies "You're not helping" and stars swinging across the building.
  • There's a back and forth between Hunt and Simon Pegg's character. "They are testing a glove that can help you climb buildings. It has different colors on the fingertips." "Blue is glue," "And what about red?" "Dead."
  • The Mission: Impossible theme is done with rock music, much of the scenes are in Dubai
  • Parties, girls, fancy cars, two cars crash into each other in the desert and Hunt "jumps away while a cars bumps right over him and jumps misses him."
  • The trailer ends with the phrase "Your mission should you chose to accept it ..." then says "This December."
  • That's a pretty piece meal description of the trailer but you get the idea. It sounds like it's going to be high octane, exactly what you'd expect from a Mission: Impossible trailer. Let's hope the movie is equally as good.
