'Star Wars The Force Awakens' Trailer Arrives Friday; Full Theater List Here

UPDATE: StarWars.com has revealed the full list of theaters that will be playing the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer starting Friday. Find it below.

This morning, our scoop about the Star Wars The Force Awakens trailer hitting select theaters this Friday was confirmed. Regal Cinemas mistakenly jumped the gun and revealed which of their theaters were among the few chosen. AMC Theaters and Cinemark then joined suit.

Well, J.J. Abrams has released one of his patented notes recognizing this plan and even revealed the trailer's total length: 88 seconds. See the Star Wars trailer release date note below.

When the full theater list is revealed, we'll be sure to post it. For now, only Regal has mistakenly revealed the theaters. See the list here.

UPDATE: AMC Theaters have confirmed:

As well as Cinemark:

People love to analyze these notes so the two big things to pull out are the Tie Fighter blowing up...something, and the word "excellent." I think Abrams just wants us to have an excellent Thanksgiving, so we'll let that go. Do you think the trailer will show a Tie Fighter shooting at something? I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure a Tie Fighter does play a fairly important role in the early part of the movie, so maybe it's in the trailer. No spoilers here though.

Despite what you may have read, Regal Cinemas is not the only theater chain that'll be showing the trailer. As we previously reported about 100 theaters around North America will be showing the trailer in front of every single movie over the weekend. That would suggest it'll debut online next week, but that's unconfirmed at this point.

Also, remember when we said Disney had something "bigger" planned for the debut? This is certainly is. A blanket trailer event in select theaters, but on every single movie in those theaters, for a few days, is a unique and unprecedented event. As if the movie theaters and malls weren't busy enough on Black Friday, now we have the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer to debut too.
