New 'Hotel Artemis' Trailer And Posters Introduce You To The Cast Of Characters

Sure, the action-comedy Hotel Artemis looks like a bit of a John Wick knock-off, but it also looks like a really fun John Wick knock-off, with a killer cast to boot. And a brand new trailer (plus a whole slew of character posters) is here to introduce you to that cast.

Hotel Artemis Trailer

Hotel Artemis has a lot of main characters. If this seems overwhelming to you for some reason, worry not: a new Hotel Artemis trailer is here to introduce you to this rogues' gallery, and tell you what it is they're up to in the film. This trailer is specifically done-up to resemble the original trailer for Robert Atlman's 1975 character-driven Nashville. I'm not exactly sure why they're taking this approach to marketing the film, since Hotel Artemis doesn't seem to be anything like Nashville. But it's amusing nonetheless! Here's the original Nashville trailer for comparison.

Hotel Artemis is "set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Jodie Foster plays The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only emergency room for criminals. Surrounded by an all-star cast that includes Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brian Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista."

Let's just address the elephant in the room: this film looks like someone saw the John Wick franchise, paid close-attention to the fancy assassin hotel The Continental in those movies, and said: "What if we stole that assassin hotel idea, but made the hotel a hospital so we won't get slapped with a lawsuit?" Yet, despite its derivative nature, I can't help but be excited for this film. It looks like a lot of fun, and you can't beat that cast – Jeff Goldblum, Jodie Foster and Jenny Slate, all in one movie together? One ticket, please.

If the above character trailer wasn't enough for you, there's also an entire set of character posters. You have:

Jodie Foster – "Nurse"

Sterling K. Brown – "Waikiki"

Sofia Boutella – "Nice"

Jeff Goldblum – "The Wolf King/Niagara"

Brian Tyree Henry -"Honolulu"

Jenny Slate – "Morgan"

Zachary Quinto – "Crosby"

Charlie Day – "Acapulco"

Dave Bautista – "Everest"

I want to put that Goldblum poster in a huge ornate frame and hang it in a place of prominence in my house. Even the character name – The Wolf King – is cool.

Hotel Artemis is written and directed by Drew Pearce, writer of Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Look for it in theaters on June 8, 2018.
