VOTD: This 'Friday The 13th' Video Game Trailer Is All Blood And Brutality

There are already plenty of violence in video games, so creating a gem where you're the iconic slasher Jason Vorhees just makes sense. That's exactly what Gun Media Home Video and IllFonic are doing with Friday the 13th: The Game.

We got a tease of the forthcoming video game back in June with actual gameplay footage, but now a new trailer has come out of PAX West, showing a collection of brutal kills you can carry out as the hockey-masked killer. This video is very NSFW if people at your job would frown upon video game blood and murder. Seriously, there's a lot of it, and it's pretty damn brutal. So watch at ths Friday the 13th video game trailer your own risk.

Here's the Friday the 13th: The Game trailer from Gun Media:

There's a wide variety of kills here, but I wonder just how many different ways there are to kill helpless, hormone-driven camp counselors. In addition to his trusty machete, he uses a pitchfork, a spear, an axe, a pickax and a fireplace. Plus, since he's so strong, he does plenty of head-crushing with his hands.

But what really makes this trailer work is that it's framed as a music video for the song "XIII" by a band called Crazy Lix. They sound just like the kind of rock band that would have been popular in the 1980s, and the vibe fits perfectly with all the killing from Jason Vorhees.

It sounds like the recent Friday the 13th lawsuit isn't creating any problems for this video game, and it's slated to be released sometime in October. Sadly, there's not a Friday the 13th during that month, but there is a Friday the 14th, so maybe that will have to do. But there's no specific date given for the release yet, so we'll have to patiently wait for any new info.
