The Beaver, Paul, Conan O'Brien Can't Stop And More Added To The 2011 SXSW Film Festival

SXSW announced today that a handful of additional titles were being added to the line-up for the 2011 SXSW Film Festival, including Jodie Foster's Mel Gibson dramedy The Beaver, Greg Mottola's sci-fi comedy Paul starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Seth Rogen, and Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, a documentary that follows behind-the-scenes of O'Brien's summer tour, among others. SXSW FILM ANNOUNCES 2011 FESTIVAL TEASERJODIE FOSTER'S THE BEAVER AND CONAN O'BRIEN DOCUMENTARY TO WORLD PREMIERE

Austin, Texas — January 13, 2011 – Earlier today, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival announced a handful of titles that will premiere at the 2011 event. Films announced include Jodie Foster's drama The Beaver, Greg Mottola's comedy-adventure Paul and Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, a documentary by Rodman Flender that follows behind-the-scenes of O'Brien's summer tour, among others. The Beaver will screen in this year's Centerpiece slot on Wednesday, March 16. The complete festival lineup will be announced in early February 2011. The South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival runs March 11 – 19, 2011 in Austin, Texas.

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (World Premiere)

After a much-publicized separation with his former employers, did Conan O'Brien hit the road on a 32-City tour to connect with his fans or fill a void within himself? Filmmaker Rodman Flender followed O'Brien on his "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour" and returned with an intimate portrait of an artist trained in improvisation, captured at the most improvisational time of his career.

The Innkeepers (World Premiere)

It's About You (World Premiere)

Paul (North American Premiere)

Director: Greg Mottola, Writers: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for Universal Pictures' comedy-adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. Square Grouper (World Premiere)

A colorful portrait of Miami's pot smuggling scene of the 1970s, populated with redneck pirates, a ganja-smoking church, and the longest serving marijuana prisoner in American history.

These films join the previously announced 2011 Opening Night Film Source Code, directed by Duncan Jones and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan.
