The Best Movies And TV Shows Coming To Netflix November 2021

If you ask me, October is flying by. This is why it's important to begin Halloween season in August, because if you wait until October, you'll blink and you'll miss it. Case in point: Netflix just sent out their list of titles coming to the streaming service in November, and when they do that, it means the current month is all but over. I'm not ready to let October go just yet, but if you are, you might want to check out the list of titles below as you prepare for winter. 

The first live-action "Addams Family" movie is fun, but I think everyone can agree that the sequel, "Addams Family Values," is even better, mainly because the sequel has Joan Cusack hamming it up as a black widow who wants to get her hands on the Addams Family fortune. And once again, Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston are the horniest ghouls you'll ever see on the screen. I sure do wish we had gotten at least one more film with this cast. Alas, it was not to be, and now we have some animated franchise instead. Meh.

Rebecca Hall's excellent directorial debut, adapted from the 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, follows two childhood friends who reunite one day after a chance encounter. The women, played by Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga, are Black, but they can "pass" for white if need be. Thompson's character doesn't try to pass, but Negga's character does – so much so that she's even married to a white man who has no idea she's Black. This is weighty, difficult material, and Hall and her cast are more than up for the challenge. 

New Social Series:

Netflix Book Club (launching November 16) – A one-of-a-kind book club where readers will hear about their new favorite books, films and series adaptations first – and get exclusive access to the process behind bringing these books from page to screen. Host, three-time Emmy Award winner and star of the hit series adaptation Orange Is the New Black Uzo Aduba will announce monthly book selections that will be making their way to Netflix and host conversations about the adaptation process with cast, creators and authors. First up, Nella Larsen's Harlem Renaissance-era novel Passing which will coincide with the new Netflix movie adaptation November 10. Directed and written by Rebecca Hall and starring Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga, Passing follows the story of two Black women who can pass as white and choose to live on opposite sides of the color line in 1929 New York. The Netflix Book Club series will kick off on November 16 on the Still Watching Netflix YouTube Channel and the Netflix US Facebook channel.
