Latest 'Storks' Trailer Gets An Assist From Jason Derulo's New Single
If you're not already excited for an animated adventure about a stork's quest to deliver a baby, perhaps the promise of a new song by Jason Derulo can entice you. Warner Bros. has released the new trailer for Storks, featuring Derulo's new song "Kiss the Sky." Will it prove as ubiquitous as Despicable Me 2's "Happy" or as frustratingly catchy as Trolls' "Can't Stop the Feeling"? Find out for yourself by clicking play on the Storks trailer below.
To recap: Storks takes place in a universe where storks have stopped delivering babies, and instead begun delivering packages. But when Junior (voiced by Andy Samberg) accidentally sets off the Baby Making Machine, he finds himself with a baby he needs to drop off before his boss (Kelsey Grammer) gets wise. Katie Crown voices Junior's human companion, Tulip.
One thing the trailers haven't really made clear is where humans have been getting their children since storks stopped delivering them. Or do they exist in a Children of Men dystopia where the population is rapidly aging, without a younger generation to replace them? Judging by the cheerful, family-friendly tone of the Storks trailer, I'm guessing not.
Besides Samberg, Grammer, and Crown, Storks also features Danny Trejo as another stork, Stephen Kramer Glickman as a pigeon, Jennifer Aniston and Ty Burrell as a couple of busy (human) parents, and Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as a pair of wolves who have a soft spot for this baby. Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) wrote the script and also directed, with Pixar vet Doug Sweetland.
Storks opens in 2D and 3D on September 23. It is the second feature film to come out of the Warner Animation Group, following 2014's The Lego Movie.
Storks deliver babies...or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for a global internet retail giant. Junior (Andy Samberg), the company's top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl.
Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks' true mission in the world.
