'Star Wars: Rogue One' Props & Costumes Reveal New Information And Vehicles

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 has kicked off, and the first thing we saw on the show floor was the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story exhibit featuring props and costumes from the upcoming Star Wars movie. After the jump you will find a gallery of photos along with the information provided to us on the display plaques. You will see new ships, new weapons and learn a lot of new information about the new characters in Gareth Edwards' film.

Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones)

Putting behind a checkered past by lending her skills to a greater cause, Jyn Erso is impetuous, defiant, and eager to bring the battle to the Empire. Used to operating alone, she finds higher purpose by taking on a desperate mission for the Rebel Alliance.

There's not a lot of new info here, but Jyn Erso is bound to be an extremely popular cosplay and/or Halloween costume pick going forward, so here's a nice long look at all the details.

Ct. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)

An accomplished Alliance Intelligence officer with combat field experience, Captain Cassian Andor commands respect from his Rebel troops with his ability to keep a cool head under fire and complete his missions with minimal resources.

Cassian Andor sounds much more straitlaced than many of us might have expected, and it seems like a sure bet that his more by-the-book leadership style will clash with Jyn Erso's rebellious personality. But his extensive experience and resourcefulness will surely prove invaluable in the mission.

Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen)

Deeply spiritual, Chirrut Îmwe believes all living things are connected through the Force. His sightless eyes do not prevent him from being a highly skilled warrior. Though he lacks Force abilities, this warrior monk has rigorously honed his bodies through intense physical and mental discipline.

Fans who've been wondering if Chirrut Îmwe might have Force abilities now have their answer. He's just your totally average non-Force-having badass blind warrior monk.

Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen)

The harsh reality of his Imperial-occupied home world has hardened Baze Malbus into a pragmatic soldier and a crack shot with his heavy repeater cannon. Baze has a bravado that provides a marked contrast to the spiritual centeredness of his best friend and moral compass, Chirrut Îmwe.

Baze and Chirrut's friendship sounds like it could be a strong emotional throughline of the movie, and it's nice to get some info on what is personally driving Baze Malbus to join the Rebellion.

Bodhi Rook

A former Imperial pilot, Bodhi has strong piloting and technical skills that he will put to use for the Rebellion. Ever practical, but highly anxious, Bodhi must gather his courage to bring the battle to the Empire.

Who knew Bodhi was the Imperial defector of the group? In our last character rundown we wondered if he might be a bit of a Han Solo type, but he sounds too anxious for that. Maybe he'll provide a bit of C-3PO-style comic relief.

Dir. Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)

As director of Advanced Weapons Research for the Imperial military, Orson Krennic is obsessed with the completion of the long-delayed Death Star project. A cruel but brilliant man, Krennic has staked his reputation on the delivery of the functional battle station to the Emperor.

Here's a better idea of just how Orson Krennic fits into the Empire's hierarchy — and what's at stake for him if he loses this round.

Imperial Stormtrooper

Stormtroopers are the faceless legions of soldiers serving the Galactic Empire. Encased in white armor, stormtroopers are loyal Imperials who undergo rigorous training that strips them of any sense of individuality.

Specialist stormtroopers stationed at the top secret Imperial military headquarters, Shoretroopers patrol the beaches and bunkers of the planetary facility.

Here are the troopers from the beach scenes we've seen in the marketing. I wonder if these troopers often find themselves complaining about how sand is coarse and rough and irritating and gets everywhere.

Imperial Death Trooper

The elite soldiers of Imperial Intelligence, Death Troopers are encased in specialized stormtrooper armor with a dark, ominous gleam. These soldiers serve as bodyguards and enforcers for Director Krennic, a highly placed officer within the Advanced Weapons Research division of the Empire.

We've seen a lot of stormtrooper designs and these are some of the most striking. They do a lot to add to the general aura of menace surrounding Director Krennic.

Imperial AT-ACT Cargo Walker

A larger version of the standard combat AT-AT, the AT-ACT walker features a dedicated cargo bed for the transportation of heavy building materials or combat munitions. It was deployed at major Imperial construction projects, such as shipyards and sprawling research installations.

TIE Striker

A streamlined variant of the classic TIE fighter design, the TIE striker is designed for atmospheric patrols over important Imperial ground-based installations. The versatile design can also soar in space, where it can accompany traditional TIE fighters in chasing down enemy starships.

Krennic's Imperial Shuttle

With its starkly geometric hull shape and folding bat-like wings, the approach of Delta-class T-3c shuttle is an imposing sight. Once it lands and deploys its passengers — the cruel Director Krennic and his squad of elite troopers, all sense of dread proves extremely warranted.

Death Star

The Death Star is the Empire's ultimate weapon: a moon-sized space station with a superlaser capable of destroying an entire planet. The brainchild of Grand Moff Tarkin, the Death Star nears completion — and once ready, will serve as the Emperor's principal means of spreading fear throughout the galaxy.

The mention of Grand Moff Tarkin here is interesting. Could he figure into Rogue One somehow?
