The Toy Box: Scott Pilgrim, Star Trek Beyond, Labyrinth, South Park, Indiana Jones & More
The Toy Box is a weekly feature at /Film that will round up some of the newest and coolest collectibles, decorations, gadgets and other memorabilia that you nerds might want for your shelves.
This week brings a new assembly of Star Wars and Star Trek items, as well as some new Funko POP Vinyls for characters from Labyrinth and the first ever Indiana Jones figure in the collectible line. There's also a vinyl release of the Swiss Army Man soundtrack on the way, a couple new South Park figures, and a cuddly friend from Finding Dory.
See all that and more in this edition of The Toy Box.
Swiss Army Man: Lakeshore Records and iam8bit Vinyl Soundtrack
After you see Swiss Army Man this summer (expanding to more theaters this weekend), you'll likely want the soundtrack and score composed by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra. The good news is there's a vinyl version of the soundtrack coming this fall with album art from Mark Englert, an ocean blue vinyl disc and a paper doll playset. And priced at $29.99, it's a pretty great buy for all you recordheads out there.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Jakks C-3PO Vac Metal Figure
Coming exclusively to San Diego Comic-Con this summer is a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens figure from Jakks Pacific featuring an 18-inch metallic C-3PO, complete with red arm. Apparently it's the first time a C-3PO figure of this scale has been offered with the classic reflective finish.. He also has seven points of articulation if you feel the need to open him up for some reason. It'll cost $60 from Entertainment Earth and will only be sold at Comic-Con.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: DreamEX 1/6 Scale Casey Jones Figure
If the new version of Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows isn't for you, then you might prefer this new DreamEX 1/6 scale figure of the hockey-masked vigilante. He'll come with all the right accessories including his signature hockey stick, a baseball bat, golf club, field hockey stick and more. Hopefully one of the items is also a cricket bat, but he would have to know what a crumpet is before he understood cricket. There's no price available for the figure yet, but Lunar Toy Store posted the pictures, so they should have more details sometime down the road.
Alien: H.R. Giger Concept Albino Big Chap Alien
For those who don't know, the original design for the xenomorph by H.R. Giger had the skin of the creature originally looking more translucent. However, creating the practical effect of the xenomorph with that kind of skin proved to be rather difficult, so we got the much darker toned version of the creature we all know today.
NECA is honoring this design for the xenomorph with a new 1/4 scale version of the creature that will be available for release this October after being on display at Comic-Con this summer. The figure stands 22" tall with 25 points of articulation and a hinged jaw and an extending inner mouth. No price is a available yet, but the figure will only get a single production run, so you better keep an eye out for it.
South Park: Kid Robot's Mysterion and Professor Chaos Figures
From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes South Park: The Fractured But Whole videogame, a sequel to 2014's award winning game South Park: The Stick of Truth. In celebration of the new game, Kidrobot brings you Mysterion and Professor Chaos Medium Figures! Standing 7" tall each, Mysterion and Professor Chaos make the perfect additions to any South Park collection! Each figure retails for $49.99
You can get them over at the Kid Robot website right here.
Star Wars: Death Star Toaster
That's no moon, it's a toaster. Seriously, The Fowndry turned the Death Star into a kitchen appliance to cook your Pop-Tarts, bagels, toaster pastries or whatever you need toasted. In addition to toasting food, it also brands it with the Star Wars logo. It will be in stock in October and will cost you roughly $66, but it looks like it ships from overseas, so it might take a little while to get over here.
Star Trek Beyond: Star Fleet Tunic and Dress
Arriving before Star Trek Beyond hits theaters, Anovos' replica collection of clothing has expanded to include the new Star Fleet shirts and dress worn by the crew of the USS Enterprise. The tunic you can get in Command Gold (Captain), Sciences Blue (Commander) and Operations Red (Lieutenant and future dead person). Apparently the uniforms don't come with new pants as previous releases from Anovos have. Thankfully, that's not a problem for the dress that will be available in the same colors and is actually long-sleeved this time, unlike the dresses for the previous film's replica uniforms.
You'll also notice that the Star Fleet Insignia has been redesigned slightly with primarily gold coloring with a silver bevel. Each uniform will come with one, though it's not clear how it attaches to the fabric. Get the tunic for $150 and the dress for $165 over at Anovos.
Finding Dory: Plush Baby Dory
Undoubtedly one of the most adorable characters to ever grace a Disney movie, the baby version of the forgetful Dory pulls at your heartstrings throughout the entire Pixar sequel. Now you can hold her and squeeze her all you want so she won't get lost with this plush version of the tiny fish straight from the Disney Store. It's only $9.95, and that's not bad at all.
Labyrinth: Funko POP Vinyl Figures
Fans of the 1980s classic starring David Bowie can now bring some of their favorite characters home with them in the form of these Funko POP Vinyl figures that will be arriving in September. The figures include Jareth, Hoggle, Sarah with Worm and 6-inch sized figure of Ludo.
Harry Potter: Juniper Books Hogwarts Trunk Book Set
If for some reason you don't have all the Harry Potter books yet, or you're looking for a brand new set, you might want to hit up Juniper Books. You can get the whole set of Harry Potter books in a Hogwarts trunk. It looks like a sturdy cardboard trunk, so it's nothing super special, but it does fit all seven of the books perfectly.
The real draw of this collection though is that you can get all of the books with new bright and colorful covers inspired by the colors and symbols of each of the Hogwarts houses. So choose Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin for your book covers and the first 300 who get an order in will also get a copy of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with the same style cover. The set will cost you $275 over at Juniper Books right now.
Terminator Genisys: Arnold Schwarzenegger 1/2 Scale Bust
Chronicle Collectibles has a Terminator bust on the way, this time featuring a 1/2 scale version of 1980s Arnold Schwarzenegger. There's a T-800 battle damaged version of Schwarzenegger as well as a clean version without any metal skeleton showing. Both will cost $350 with the battle damaged version available now and the clean version available for pre-order on Friday, July 8 at 8pm ET.
Scott Pilgrim: Mondo's Ramona Flowers Figure
Continuing their awesome collectible line, Mondo has a new figure inspired by the art of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim. Instead of bringing the lead character to your shelf, this figure is for Ramona Flowers. Measuring nearly 9-inches tall, she has seven points of articulation and comes with a titanium baseball bat, large hammer, subspace suitcase and a couple interchangeable right arms.
You can also get a special Mondo exclusive version of the figure that comes with an interchangeable Scott Pilgrim who fits in the subspace suitcase, but that's only available until 1pm ET today. The regular figure costs $50 while the Mondo exclusive version costs $55 over at Mondo.
Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn Finders Keypers Statue
If you're a DC Comics collector and you happen to need a place to stash a key, then this Suicide Squad Finders Keypers statue should be on your wislist. It measures 10 inches tall and the diorama base has a built-in keychain holder for your keys. It's a practical version of the Clown Princess of Crime that will cost you $29.99 over at Entertainment Earth.
Star Wars and Indiana Jones: SDCC Exclusives Funko POP Vinyl Figures
Funko has a ton of exclusive POP Vinyl figures they're bringing to San Diego Comic-Con and a few more just surfaced. First up, there are two new styles of the Force Awakens versions of Han Solo and BB-8. The new Han Solo comes with Chewbacca's bowcaster and BB-8 is giving his fiery thumbs up. Even though these are said to both be SDCC exclusives, there's a rumor they may both hit retailers eventually too.
In addition, another Lucasfilm property finally gets its first Funko POP Vinyl with Indiana Jones from Raiders of the Lost Ark getting a figure, complete with a whip and the iconic idol that he picks up in the beginning of the movie.
Star Wars: ThinkGeek's Lightsaber Handle Tool Set
A more elegant tool set for a more civilized age. ThinkGeek has a set of three screwdrivers with lightsaber handles. The set includes a Darth Vader flathead, Luke Skywalker's Phillips or Yoda's shorter flathead. The set will cost you $19.99 right now.
