With all the reboots, remakes and sequels out there, it's no secret that Hollywood is hurting for original ideas. Of course, as long as audiences keep turning up for the same recycled junk, that's exactly what they're going to get. In fact, Hollywood has become so methodical with their approach to movies that even all the movie trailers are the same.

A new video runs through 11 different ways that show how movie trailers are the same. As you'll see, it's not just superhero movies or even just blockbusters that make us feel like we're suffering from deja vu. Even trailers for indies, dramas and specifically Woody Allen movies all have their own tropes. Find out how all movie trailers are the same after the jump.

Some of these are a little more obvious, such as the giant 3D titles or the plucky, acoustic songs used for indie dramas. However, the music used to reveal that the trailer you're seeing is for a Woody Allen movie is a very specific observation that I never realized before.

While some have been around for awhile now, others have only emerged within the past couple years. For example, it seems like a lot of the quirkier comic book movies are using more unique soundtrack choices for their trailers ever since Guardians of the Galaxy used "Hooked on a Feeling." Specifically, Suicide Squad trailers have utilized the Wayne's World soundtrack pretty well, as fans and the creators of this video have noticed. Plus, there's all those creepy, slowed down covers of other songs that have been all over the place. In fact, most of these are music-based observations and cues.

At the end of the day, no matter how many of these tropes and tricks movie trailer editors use, it's the footage that really needs to speak for itself in order to get butts in the seats.
