The Path Trailer: Aaron Paul In Hulu's Cult Drama Series From Producer Jason Katims

Hulu has released a trailer for their original series The Path, which will premiere on the online streaming service on March 30th, 2016. From executive producer Jason Katims (creator of Friday Night Lights and Parenthood) comes a drama about "a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith, and power." The 10-episode series stars Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy. Watch The Path trailer embedded after the jump.

As a fan of both Parenthood and Friday Night Lights, they had my attention with Jason Katims' involvement. But this series looks unlike his other television projects. This television series looks darker and less relatable, which makes me curious how involved he was in the development. Either way, I like the actors involved and will definitely give this new series a chance when it debuts at the end of March.

Hulu has said that each episode will take an "in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want." The new series was created by Jessica Goldberg, who was a writer/producer on Parenthood and Camp. She will executive produce the series, along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.

Here is the official synopsis for The Path:

To Belong You Must Believe. We all want to believe in something, but to what lengths will we go to find meaning? The Path explores the unknown and mysterious world of the cult-like Meyerist Movement in upstate New York. At the center of the movement lies Eddie (Aaron Paul), a conflicted husband; Sarah (Michelle Monaghan), his devoted wife; and Cal (Hugh Dancy), an ambitious leader. We follow each as they contend with deep issues involving relationships, faith, and power. The series takes an in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.
