'Terminator Genisys' Honest Trailer: Murdering The Only Good 'Terminator' Movies
It's no secret that Terminator Genisys wasn't the hit that Paramount Pictures hoped it would be this past summer. The film only pulled in just under $90 million at the domestic box office, and while it raked in a surprising additional $350 million in international box office receipts (with the movie opening huge in China), it's not enough to keep the studio from rethinking the future of the franchise.
But it's not just the financial return that's a problem, because the movie has a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the worst rated movie in the Terminator franchise. And so, that makes the Terminator Genisys Honest Trailer quite the hilarious roast of this unnecessarily complex and unwanted sequel.
Here's the Terminator Genisys Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies:
Even if you found things to enjoy in Terminator Genisys (some of the technological advancements of the new John Connor Terminator played by Jason Clarke were cool in action), one thing I think we can all agree on is Jai Courtney is awful and just needs to stop. But like the Honest Trailer says, no matter where you run, no matter where you hide, you'll never escape from Jai Courntey, the homeless man's Channing Tatum.
Just revisiting these brief clips reinforces how much I disliked this movie. More power to you if this was something you were able to enjoy, but I just can't get past how much this movie desperately wants to tread the same territory as the first two movies while also trying to do something insanely different. Jurassic World may have been a lesser carbon copy of Jurassic Park, but at least that movie made more sense than this time travel travesty. Plus, Jurassic World didn't make us watch Jai Courtney for two hours.
