Hear What Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma And Finn Sound Like In 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

We're hitting peak Star Wars with "Force Friday", and I'm sure if you're not excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens you're probably getting a bit annoyed of this site and the internet this week. So I apologize in advance, but we have another Star Wars story coming out of "Force Friday." A new Star Wars: the Force Awakens toy gives us our first listen at what Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma sound like in the new film. Not only that, but the Force Awakens dialogue used in the toys presents some juicy questions.

Warning, if you are worried about possible spoilers, don't continue reading this post as the dialogue in the toys presents some interesting questions. There are a few genetic phrases but some of the quotes give us some fun clues about moments from the movie. We believe the dialogue is from the movie, but with JJ Abrams' mystery box, you never know — toys have strayed from the movie equivalents from time to time.

David Popineau tweeted the following videos of the Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma masks which come out on "Force Friday" (found via MSW):

The following lines are spoken by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), followed by my added commentary:

  • "I feel it too.": Is he talking about The Force?
  • "You know what I've come for.": Probably Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber?
  • "Together we will destroy the Resistance and the last Jedi.": Who is he talking to? Captain Phasma? Snoke? Interesting that it seems that Luke Skywalker has not trained another Jedi Knight in the 30 years following Return of the Jedi.
  • "Don't fight it.": It appears that Ren is trying to convince someone to join the dark side? Could it be Finn or Rey?
  • "You know you can't, I am immune to the light.": I assume he is talking metaphorically about being able to resist the reaches of the force.
  • "We will send it away": No idea
  • "I've been waiting for this day for a long time.": His first meeting with Luke Skywalker?
  • "Is it true, you're just a scavenger." Renn seems disappointed of what Rey has made out of her life.
  • "Don't be afraid, I feel it too."
  • "That weapon is mine.": Possibly Anakin's lightsaber or maybe a bigger weapon?
  • This also confirms that Driver's voice is distorted in the same way Darth Vader's voice was in the original trilogy.

The following lines are spoken by Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), followed by my added commentary:

  • "Move to your ships, now.": Very commanding.
  • "On my command...": as I said.
  • "Fire FN2187." The number is a fun homage to detention cell 2187 located in Detention Block AA-23 aboard the first Death Star which was used for the interrogation and detainment of Princess Leia Organa.
  • "Submit your blaster for inspection.": Talking to a Force Order Stormtrooper no doubt.
  • The following lines are spoken by Finn (John Boyega) from an IGN video, followed by my added commentary:

  • "My names Finn, and I'm in charge now!"
  • "We go back to Jakku and we die." Why would they want to return to Jakku?
  • "Stay low and put up the shields."
  • "We need cover, quick!"
  • "FN2187, I don't, know what, to do!" Interesting that the same FN2187 designation is used by both Phasma and Finn. Phasma tells FN2187 to fire, and Finn either tells FN2187 that he doesn't know what to do or is maybe responding with his First Order Stormtrooper call number over the radio. So is Finn FN2187? If so maybe Finn's last name starts with the letter N?
  • "I never should have rescued you." This is referencing either Rey or Poe Dameron.
  • "I've had a pretty messed up day"
  • Worth noting that Boyega is speaking in an American accent
