'London Has Fallen' Pushed To 2016

Briefly: Endangered world leaders are apparently no match for endangered astronauts. Focus Features has moved the London Has Fallen release date from October 2 to January 22, 2016, just days after Fox shifted Ridley Scott's The Martian up to October 2.

The new slot puts London Has Fallen against another British-American triller set in London, Ariel Vromen's Criminal. Also opening that day are the faith-based mystery Risen and the horror film The Boy.

Gerard Butler once again as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, who accompanies the POTUS (Aaron Eckhart) to the funeral of the British prime minister. When the event is targeted by terrorists, Banning teams with an MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) to foil the plot. Morgan Freeman also returns from Olympus Has Fallen. [Deadline]
