LEGO Cool Stuff: 1960's Batmobile, Mary Poppins And An Alien-Inspired Exosuit
Today I bring you a roundup of a couple cool movie/tv-related projects up for vote at LEGO Ideas and also one cool science fiction LEGO product that was voted into production and coming out next month. Hit the jump to check out all three LEGO projects and hopefully help vote them into production.
We've posted about LEGO Ideas in the past. The platform was most famously responsible for making the Back to the Future Delorean time machine LEGO set that was released last year. The way it works, LEGO fanatics submit their LEGO creations and the LEGO Ideas community can support an idea. If a project gets 10,000 or more supporters, the LEGO idea gets qualified for review. At that point, the LEGO Review Board chooses which projects become new LEGO sets. Aside from the Back to the Future build, other sets voted into production include a LEGO mincraft set, the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover, and the asteroid exploration spacecraft HAYABUSA.
Alien-Inspired LEGO Exosuit
Another new project approved at LEGO Ideas is a science fiction inspired build — the LEGO exosuit. The LEGO build project was first submitted a few years ago by Peter Reid and is finally getting a release in August 2014. The build is constructed of include 321 pieces and will retail for $34.99.
