'22 Jump Street' Stand-In Trailer: Who Needs Movie Stars?

22 Jump Street opens today, with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the lead roles. But there is a different version of the movie out there, or at least an alternate trailer. Ivan Hoey Jr. and Brad Cookus were the stand-ins for the two stars — that is, the guys who run through scenes so that the camera team and other departments can get the tech details of a scene worked out. Stand-ins are a part of almost any big movie production, and we almost never see them.So someone at Sony cut together a version of the 22 Jump Street trailer entirely using footage of Hoey Jr. and Cookus, while keeping the "real" audio featuring Tatum and Hill. It's funny stuff, watch below. 

This trailer is slightly unsafe for work thanks to language. It is also perfectly suited for this movie, which already has a great time playing with expectations about sequels and the workings of studio films.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don't have to just crack the case—they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
