'Neighbors' Trailer And Poster: Seth Rogen And Zac Efron Go To War
Seth Rogen has made more than his share of movies about man-children reluctant to grow up, but in Neighbors, he plays a guy who's achieved all the hallmarks of adulthood. He's gainfully employed and happily married, and even has an adorable baby girl to boot. No, his problem here is that other people haven't grown up — namely, the rowdy frat boys that have just moved in next door.Zac Efron plays the leader of the gang, a seemingly reasonable guy who turns vengeful when Rogen and his wife (played by Rose Byrne) call the cops on a party they're throwing. The tension between the two houses intensifies, and pretty soon there are babies eating condoms and grown men getting launched into the ceiling. Watch the newest trailer after the jump.
Neighbors has a pretty promising team behind it. The director is Nicholas Stoller, who directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Five-Year Engagement, and the supporting cast includes Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jake Johnson, Lisa Kudrow, Jason Mantzoukas, Craig Roberts, and Ike Barinholtz.
The trailer is pretty funny, too. Byrne is never better than when she's being silly, in my opinion, and Efron looks like he's having a lot of fun playing against type as a villainous bro. I do wonder if this is one of those comedy trailers that gives away all the good gags — did we really need to find out where both of those airbags went? — but for now I'll just hope they have more up their sleeve.
Neighbors moves into theaters on May 9, 2014.
