Bruce Wayne Is Beaten Into Fighting Shape In Trailer For 'Batman: Arkham Origins' Game
The crew at Rocksteady Studios really got Batman right in the game Batman: Arkham Asylum. I'd argue that the vision of the character in that game was among the best versions of Batman ever put on screen.
The second sequel to that game is Batman: Arkham Origins, which comes out later this month. It was developed by a new team at Warner Bros. Games Montreal, with the efforts of lead writers are Corey May and Dooma Wendschuh, who wrote some of the Prince of Persia titles and the first Assassins Creed games for Ubisoft.
This game goes back into Batman's early years; everyone loves the origin story, it seems. And this teaser for the game effectively charts the progression of Bruce Wayne through a brief series of traumas and beatings. It implies that Batman can take a few punches from bad guys because he's had it all before, and the first trauma was so much worse than all the others.
Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City's most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships. Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii U and PC worldwide on October 25.
