'The Journey Of Walter White:' A Spoiler-Filled 'Breaking Bad' Fan Video

Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, has long said his aim with the AMC show was to demonstrate how a seemingly normal person could slowly become Scarface: a cold-blooded, millionaire drug dealer. Most of us fit into that first category. We live our lives, go to work or school, have a family, hang out with friends and that's it. Think about the things that would need to happen to turn you into one of the most dispicable, evil people alive. That's what Breaking Bad is all about.

That man is Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston. Father, husband, chemistry teacher and riddled with cancer. He decides the best way to make enough money for his family to survive after his passing is to "break bad" and cook meth. But things don't quite going according to plan and, after the jump, you can see a fantastic eight minute fan edit of how Walter White the school teacher became Walter White the criminal over four and a half seasons, up through last Sunday's mid-season finale.

Thanks to YouTube user UltraBrawl for this fantastic edit. It features pretty much every single Breaking Bad spoiler there is. So if you haven't seen the show yet, start watching on Netflix Instant right now rather than starting here. Trust me.

That's a great video, is it not? If you're reading this, you're probably caught up with the show and, like me, are already kind of used to the new Walter. The killer, the empire maker, all that good stuff. So it's easy to forget Cranston's performance in those early seasons. He was so much more innocent and aloof then. Seeing how Gilligan's ideas and Cranston's performance have so beautifully eased into the deep end is extremely rewarding. I can't wait for next summer to see how it all ends and what the hell Walter was doing at that diner.
