Superhero Bits: The Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, Dark Knight Rises, Wonder Woman, Arrow

What happens when you blend The Avengers with the popular TV show Friends? Is Marvel planning multiple Avengers video games? Where can you purchase the actual movie-used props of Thor's hammer or Captain America's shield? Which comic book is on pace to outperform Justice League #1? What influences did the costume designer for The Dark Knight Rises bring into the Bane outfit? How many superhero films has Jon Hamm been offered? And how did Joss Whedon seek to differentiate his Hulk from the previous films? Read about all of this and more in today's Superhero Bits.

This is, by far, my favorite Avengers trailer yet. Edited by Colleen, via this Tumblr and Comic Book Movie, it's done in the style of the TV show Friends.

The VP of Games Production for Marvel, TQ Jefferson, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about several upcoming games, including Amazing Spider-Man and The Avengers:

We just launched Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook; which is just the tip of the iceberg. This is the first in a much larger effort to support the Avengers franchise across not just one but multiple video game touch points. The Avengers are bigger than just one game, and we're planning to allow consumers to enjoy The Avengers regardless of their preference in gameplay style or platform. Look for more announcements in the weeks to come.

Wonder Woman tattoo from Fashionably Geek plus the original artwork by David Despau.Dark Knight Rises costume designer Lindy Hemming talked to GQ about designing Bane's costume in the film. She also teased that Batman will have some costume additions. Thanks to CBM for the heads up:

Bane was meant to look like a cross between a dictator and a revolutionary. I designed the coat myself – it took a year. We took inspiration from a Swedish army jacket and a French Revolution frock coat and amalgamated the two. It was a pain to have made, because in LA shearling is not their sort of thing: there weren't the tailors who could work with the fabric.

This Zombie Captain America is a one of a kind custom, on sale for $299 on this Etsy page. Thanks to Nerd Approved.

What Culture asks the question, "Should Commissioner Gordon Die in The Dark Knight Rises?"

Actor David Gyasi (above) tells thisisfakediy.co.uk (via CBM) a great story about how he was cast in The Dark Knight Rises.

Jon Hamm spoke to IFC and mentioned that he's been up for a lot of superhero movies but probably won't do one:

My name has come up in a lot of superhero discussions. It's a tough thing, you know? It's a tough game to get into. I have mad, crazy respect for the people that can pull it off because it's something that can be done poorly so easily. But, you know, it's a big commitment and it's probably something that, unless it's the right thing, it's probably not so much my jam.

TV Guide (via CBM) has a ton of specific details on the Disney XD Marvel Universe.

According to Bleeding Cool, initial orders of Avengers vs. X-Men #1 could beat last year's big seller, Justice League #1.

Paul Blackthorne (above) and Jamey Sheridan joined the cast of Arrow according to Deadline.Joss Whedon spoke to SFX Magazine (via CBM) about what he needed to get right with the Hulk in The Avengers. He also spoke about the film's influences in another interview but here's the Hulk quote:

So much. A Bruce Banner who's not obsessed with his own problems. A Hulk who not only feels flesh and blood, but is clearly an extension of Banner himself and not just a CGI thing that roars. A Hulk who feels dangerous, who might actually hurt someone we care about, who belongs in a classic horror film. And much more. He's the hardest character by far, and ended up being the most fun.

The new X-Box 360 Magazine (via CBM) has a ton of new screenshots from the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man video game.
