New Clips: 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2', 'Rise Of The Apes', 'The Help'

We can thank the MTV Movie Awards for the bounty of new videos today — in addition to that new Breaking Dawn trailer, which I'm sure you all loved, we also have brand-new clips from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and The Help. See them all after the jump.

I did the whole midnight book release thing for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and refused to sleep until I'd completed the novel — you might say that I'm kind of a fan. And as a fan, I'm thrilled to see that this scene looks much like I imagined while reading.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the eighth and final entry in the Harry Potter series, opens July 15, 2011. The film was directed by David Yates and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and many, many others....

... including Tom Felton, who also stars in this summer's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. For which we also have a clip! (How's that for a segue?) The prequel/reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise tells the story of how humans' experimentation with genetic engineering created the intelligent apes, sparking an interspecies war.

James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Brian Cox, and Andy Serkis also star. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was directed by Rupert Wyatt and will open August 5, 2011.

And now, for something completely different: MTV also premiered a new clip from The Help, a bit of summer counter-programming that features neither wizardry nor crazy science, and only metaphorical monsters and explosions. The '60s-set drama follows a young woman named Skeeter (Emma Stone) who writes a book about the treatment of "the help" in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. The following scene sets up what kind of woman Skeeter is, and what kind of world she lives in.

The Help was written and directed by Tate Taylor from Kathryn Stockett's novel of the same title. Stone is just one of an impressive cast that also includes Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Octavia Spencer. The film opens August 12, 2011.
