'I Don't Know How She Does It' Trailer
After the critical annihilation Sex and the City 2 got, most of us didn't think we'd see a third film. And while, technically, we still haven't, the trailer for I Don't Know How She Does It, starring Sarah Jessica Parker as an overworked, professional New Yorker complete with self-aware voiceover and beautiful friends, sure feels like it. Based on a popular British book by Allison Pearson, the film is about a woman who has to balance her life in the financial fast lane along with her family and friends. Directed by Douglas McGrath (Emma) it also stars Pierce Brosnan, Kelsey Grammer, Olivia Munn, Christina Hendricks, Seth Meyers, Jane Curtin and Greg Kinnear. The Weinstein Company will release it September 16. Check out the trailer after the jump.
Thanks to Yahoo for the trailer. We'll discuss after you watch.
The Sex and the City parallels are obvious but do you think there's a chance this movie could separate itself from that? It's certainly not as racy and is a bit more about balancing relationships as opposed to shoes and handbags. Plus the supporting cast is mighty impressive. The odds that it breaks out of that female audience, though, seems slim.
Here's the official plot description:
Kate Reddy devotes her days to her job with a Boston-based financial management firm. At night she goes home to her adoring, recently-downsized architect husband Richard and their two young children. It's a non-stop balancing act, the same one that Kate's acerbic best friend and fellow working mother Allison performs on a daily basis, and that Kate's super-brainy, child-phobic young junior associate Momo fully intends to avoid. When Kate gets handed a major new account that will require frequent trips to New York, Richard also wins the new job he's been hoping for — and both will be spreading themselves even thinner. Complicating matters is Kate's charming new business associate Jack Abelhammer, who begins to prove an unexpected source of temptation.
