/Film LA: Danny Elfman Presents The Nightmare Before Christmas 4D, Scott Pilgrim Hosted By Guillermo Del Toro
Academy Award-nominated composer/songwriter Danny Elfman will appear and introduce never before heard music before the premiere of The Nightmare Before Christmas 4D at the El Capitan Theatre, and Guillermo Del Toro will host a screening Q&A of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with director Edgar Wright and comic writer/artist Bryan Lee O'Malley. Details on both events, after the jump.
The Tim Burton-produced Henry Selick-directed stop-motion animated masterpiece The Nightmare Before Christmas returns to the big screen this Halloween season with screenings at the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre from October 21st through October 31st 2010. You may have seen the film in one of the 3D rereleases in previous years, and at the El Capitan Theatre the Mouse House will be presenting the film, for the first time ever, in something they are calling "4D." The Digital Disney 3D presentation will be supplemented with in theater special effects such as wind and fog.
Hero Complex has learned that Academy Award-nominated composer/songwriter Danny Elfman is scheduled to appear before the October 21st screening to introduce some never before released bonus material from the soon to be released Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box. Tickets can be purchased on Disney.com, at the El Capitan box office (6838 Hollywood Blvd.) or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. They also have a Pumpkin King dinner available on select evenings. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Click here to view the menu.
The last set of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World midnight screenings at the New Beverly sold out in minutes, so director Edgar Wright has booked another screening, this time at Hollywood's Egyptian theatre (6712 Hollywood Blvd.) on November 1st 2010 at 7:30pm to promote the November 9th DVD/Blu-ray release of the film. Not only might this be your last time to see the film on the big screen, but the screening will feature a Q&A hosted by Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth). Del Toro will grill Wright and Bryan Lee O'Malley (the creator of the graphic novel, which the film is based upon).
Buy your tickets now on Fandango, as they will probably be quick to sell out.
